Actually if you put a file call initial_data.json in your project root directory with the following : [{
"pk": 1,
"model": "sites.site",
"fields": {
"name": "localhost:8080",
"domain":"localhost:8080"
}
}]

and you do python manage.py syncdb.It will change example.com to localhost:8080

they should put it i settings.py, it took me couple of hours to figure out this. lucky me, I am stumbled on your blog which saved I guess another couple of hours.

I think this should go directly to django documentation.

Django has been a head ache ever since I found out about it. After searching for hours for the perfect domain name I couldn't change the example.com to what I wanted. You really saved us a lot of trouble.
